Goltsblat BLP, the Russian practice of BLP, announces joining of two partners Vladislav Sourkov and Rustam Aliev to our real estate and construction practice

Goltsblat BLP, the Russian practice of BLP, announces that a team of two partners, Vladislav Sourkov and Rustam Aliev, are joining our Real Estate and Construction Practice.

This consolidation of teams is prompted by the significant growth and development of the Real Estate and Construction Practice of Goltsblat BLP's Moscow Office and, in accordance with the firm's strategy, is aimed at strengthening our international capabilities in response to the increasing demand on the part of Russian and foreign clients for legal support for major real estate transactions.

Before joining Goltsblat BLP, Vladislav Sourkov led the real estate practice of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld's Moscow office for two years and, before that, he was the head of the CMS real estate practice. Rustam Aliev was a Real Estate Practice Counsel at the Moscow office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld and before, at CMS. Together with Partners Vladislav Sourkov and Rustam Aliev, Goltsblat BLP's Real Estate will be joined by Senior Associate Dmitry Maltsev, who worked for several years with Vladislav and Rustam at both Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld and CMS. The team are expected to have completed their move to Goltsblat BLP by 15 January 2014.

This well-established team with an excellent reputation on the market was top-ranked by Legal 500 and Chambers, etc. several years running and Vladislav Sourkov has ranked first in “CRE 100. 100 Most Authoritative Persons on the Real Estate Market” two years in row, in 2012 and 2013. The team has recently been involved in a series of notable major acquisitions in connection with prominent new business centres in Moscow and other cities throughout Russia.

At Goltsblat BLP, Vladislav Sourkov and Rustam Aliev's team will cooperate closely with Vitaly Mozharowski, who has led the Real Estate and Construction Practice of the Moscow office, as well as with the firm's international real estate team in London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Currently, the BLP Real Estate and Construction Practice is one of the major international teams and has more than 360 lawyers worldwide. In 2013, The Legal 500 UK Awards ranked BLP as Best Law Firm in Real Estate, and The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, for several years in row, have recognised Goltsblat BLP's Real Estate and Construction Practice, led by Vitaly Mozharowski, as Rank 1 in providing legal support for real estate and construction projects in Russia. The most remarkable projects of the practice are Nord Stream and South Stream, as well as several major projects implemented for Sheremetievo International Airport (asset consolidation, syndicated lending, development of the North Terminal Complex), plus RusHydro's HPP cascade construction in the Kyrgyz Republic, etc..
