Following up on its Legal Update 643 dated 19 July 2018, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP advises:
On 30 July 2018, Federal Law 272-FZ dated 29 July 2018 took effect1, deferring mandatory completion of Veterinary Documents (VDs) for the extended List of controlled products.
Until 1 July 2019 owners of controlled goods are entitled (and not required by law) to complete VDs voluntarily for their goods falling under the extended List, i.e., goods that were not subject to mandatory VDs prior to 1 July 2018. Such controlled goods were marked by the <*> mark in the previous version of the List2. However, liability for the absence of VDs accompanying goods from the extended List has not been formally cancelled with respect to the period from 1 July to 30 July 2018.
Please note that these changes do not affect goods that were included on the List and required mandatory VDs prior to 1 July 2018. All such goods must still be accompanied by VDs and, since 1 July 2018, by electronic VDs.
